——ENTRY #3 - 2/13/25.
i feel bad for lack of any "cool" updates i.e. shrine work and the like. this is basically just an apology and a personal update if you care about that sort of thing.
the ending of last year was honestly awful. there was a death in the family and that's all i really want to say about that. otherwise, i dont particuarly care for christmas / new years much anymore. holiday season just makes me depressed, idk.
since the new year started, however, things have been better for me. i turned 24 and had a nice, small birthday celebration at home for the first time in 5 years. and i've also made a lot of progress in the way of building up a healthy routine and good habits. mostly, i've been focusing on exercise and since i started, i've managed to get in a workout every day! i haven't missed a single day! granted, the exercises i do are around 20-30 minutes and they aren't the heaviest workouts? but theyre enough for my body where it's currently at. i've also managed to keep a pretty decent sleep schedule and both have helped me feel a lot better mentally.
i also have tried to really cut back on screen time and social media usage, hence why i haven't really been here. i know this site sorta counts but not really?? as a social media site but it doesn't drag me in like reels and shorts do on other platforms so. i think working here more, when i am looking at screens, should be fine. part of why i kinda dipped (besides bad mental health) for a bit there was because. i gained a good amount of followers in a really short amount of time and while i'm immensely grateful, i think it kinda spooked me? there was just a new kind of stress for me when it came to making stuff i love (coding + graphics) and talking about what i love (...zelda.). so i just stopped.
anyways i've decided i no longer care what anyone thinks of my site i'm literally just here to vibe. :) i will push through.
i've also kept a good habit of drawing in my sketchbook a couple times a week. for awhile there, i was doing something Every day, no matter how small it counted, but that was. still a lot. i started my current sketchbook on dec. 26th, 2024 and i've got about 2 more pages until it's full which is crazy. i honestly can't remember the last time i completed sketchbook. it's also been nice to just draw since, when i switched my major from drawing to textiles, i kinda didn't have the time to draw anymore. so the return to it has been really really nice. i got myself a dip pen for my birthday since pen and ink is my favorite to draw with but i'm not a huge fan of microns/fineliners. they do what they do well, but a dip pen has more variation in lines (at least with something like a G nib) and it's sooooo much more fun to draw with!! i also just enjoy the process of using and cleaning up a dip pen. i really hope to have a page up with some sketchbook highlights. i think it would be neat to share.
at the beginning of this year i also finished reading dorohedoro (and there's plenty of art about that in my sketchbook lol.) i got to volume 17 before i stopped because. someone died and i was really upset about it and then it was thesis time so i never got back to it. but ! i finished it this time and it was a wild ride, but my god. My God. i love that manga so much. i love q hayashidas work and style so. so . So much. i did a few style studies of some panels and i just. there's so much detail but it never feels like a lot and so much of that detail goes into making things look dirty and grimy and it's just so good!!!!!! i do want to make a dorohedoro page or something at some point.
what i Definitely will make a page for here Soon (please god) is fullmetal alchemist. im going to start a reread of the manga here soon and i've been watching episodes of 03 and brotherhood while i've been sick. fma will never get old to me. it holds such a dear spot in my heart and always will. if you can believe it, i do love it more than zelda lmao. also twilight princess shrine coming at some point since i got my wii set up and got a copy of it for $20 from my local game store so. :) thats really exciting i think
anyways, if you made it this far, thank you. i talked about. a lot of different things and lowkey feel kinda incoherent but. gist of it is is that i'm doing better than i was at the end of last year and i feel really really bad about a lack of updates and hope to remedy that soon. twilight princess shrine, fullmetal alchemist shrine(s), potential dorohedoro shrine, sketchbook/art pages. those are my current plans.
